New SDA provider KinKera Community embraces International Day of People with Disability

Today marks International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD). Today also marks the arrival of KinKera Community – a new NDIS provider focused on delivering Specialist Disability­­ Accommodation (SDA) communities throughout Australia.

IDPwD, is an internationally celebrated day aiming to increase awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability across the globe and recognise their contribution to society. This year’s theme of IDPwD is “Building Back Better: toward a disability-inclusive, accessible and sustainable post COVD-19 World”. KinKera Community aligns closely with these themes so there is no coincidence that KinKera chose today to announce its arrival in the SDA market.    

KinKera Community, head quartered in Sydney with local representation across most states and territories, is a SDA provider committed to disrupting the SDA market. The KinKera name stems from Kin meaning family and Kera derived from ancient Greek meaning love. 

“The name is a reflection of everything we stand for” Director Ian Jordan explains. “There are many SDA providers in the market providing people with great dwellings – at KinKera we are focused beyond sustainable housing to providing an integrated community environment for all of our residents that includes real employment opportunities and real social connections. SDA is more than just a house, it has to be a great home, in a great location and with a focus on full inclusion of all people living within the community”.

KinKera’s first launch of properties is on track for mid-2021 and they are currently registering expressions of interest from people who want to experience living in a KinKera community.
